Oh ho ho! The Scarlet Pimpernel is public domain! It means this can be played with and rewritten.

You could do AMAZING THINGS by swapping aristocrats for scholars. #writing #publicdomain

Me watching The Scarlet Pimpernel for the first time.

“Death to the aristocrats! Long live the Republic!” certainly does not sound quite as evil in this the year of 2026, does it?

1790s France man.

It is INSIDIOUS that I write a sentence, then ask myself “oh god, does this sound like AI?” I have done everything I can to quarantine myself and still the slop machine has infected me!

And you know what? I’m keeping that sentence as it is because I wrote it with my human hands. #writing #antiai

I don’t think folks know this, but your fanfic writing is copyright protected. Not your use of someone else’s characters, but your words. AI absolutely violated your copyrights too.

Just because you can’t get anything back from their theft doesn’t mean they didn’t steal from you too. #antiai

At a writing conf last year, the keynote said only writers who devote all their time to writing can call themselves authors. As if most of us could possibly afford NOT to work. I CAN’T quit my day job. #writing

We should all be playing Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon right now. #artemisii #space #nasa

This is why I absolutely adore human-made art. Because it will create things like THIS #knittedcities #iWANTONE #fromcolossal

I don’t consider there to be a difference between an individual used my work to train AI and a billion dollar company. In both cases they stampeded my consent to get what they wanted and that makes them scumlords. Isn’t it worse that AI companies did it to millions of us? Don’t let them off the hook

Second Chance Sunday! In which I reblog an old blog post I’m proud of! In this case, my obsession with ร‰owyn in the LOTR. In which I defend her against Aragorn’s mansplaining. #lotr #scs

๐Ÿง  : hey, just noticed. it’s raining. me : right. I can hear it and see it ๐Ÿง  : better warn you me : oh, you don’t have toโ€” ๐Ÿง  : no, if i don’t warn you, you won’t know me : i can literally SEE the rain ๐Ÿง  : migraines are good warning me : there’s seriously no reason toโ€” ๐Ÿง  : PAINNN

This has got to be one of my favorite photos ever. A time capsule that transports you back 100 years to this husband who is so excited to show his wife his new gadget. Her affectionate look in sharing his delight? You can FEEL their love even now, 100yrs later.

There’s a reason that the AI grifter authors have to write under 10 different pen names. Bc writing dozens of books a month is impossible even for a madlibs author.

Hiding your AI writing is like sneaking White Castle beef into a vegetarian’s food. Readers are rightly repulsed and you ARE a fraud.

I had one of my weekly Zoom calls with my scifi friends, and we were talking about how crazy it is that we launched astronauts to the ๐ŸŒœand people don’t really know about it.

THAT is the state of the world right now. But if you’re looking for something Good, Artemis II #themoon #theHorrors

I just heard someone Freudian slip and call it “crapitalism.”

CRAPITALISM. YES. Yes.

Um, we’re 3 minutes away from maybe launching astronauts to the moon. That’s just… WHAT? Fuck yeah, science!

I often wonder if my ADHD makes my beta reading feedback as useful as feedback from someone who does not share my disability. I won’t remember details easily, so I get tripped up places others don’t. Like… is letting a chaos goblin into your story to comment on its organization useful? #writing

It was a fight this month, with lots of ‘pay the bills’ work dominating my time, but I still made it to 10k words this month! Yahoo! #writers #trackbear #writingcommunity

It’s been over ten years but I’m still salty that BBC’s Merlin character-assassinated Morgana. Morally gray to 1D Mean Girl ๐Ÿ˜’

I need my Sir Gawain and the Green Knight fairy queen looking with disgust at the court and doing what she could to remind them of their actual solemn duty.

Things that I think about more than necessary. How we sometimes stumble upon catchphrases for ourselves.

For instance, I say the phrase “flirting with the devil” enough to think I am in the top 1% of users of that phrase.

That probably says a LOT more about me than I’d like to admit.

I adore that NPR is featuring an audiobook narrator. So Much. Because books are about connection, and a human voice on an audiobook extends that connection by one more degree. #books #๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š
